The Painless Method of Transferring Selected Sperm to the Uterus
IUI (Intrauterine Insemination) is a procedure applied when the infertility causes are not severe. More precisely:
The Intrauterine Insemination is attempted on ovulation day.
The same day the man gives a sperm sample that is processed in the laboratory.
The sperm is initially prepared in the laboratory and afterwards it is placed in the cervix with the help of a thin catheter.
This technique is used in a few cases because experience has shown that inseminations have little chance of success when the sperm has a small number of sperm cells or when there is the case of endometriosis or unexplained infertility.
